Identifying the Need for Change


It is not unusual that the recognition for the need for change will be sparked by a range of internal and external factors. From our experience, leaders’ ability to stay receptive to their changing work context is critical to the timely identification of the need for change. Some of the changes we have responded to include:


  • Amalgamation of several government departments to form larger government departments
  • Significant budget cuts as a result of government deficits and the resulting need to:  

    • Continue implementing new automated business systems,
    • Streamline existing processes to eliminate duplication, rework and non value adding activities; and
    • Create commercial revenue streams to supplement government budget allocation

Australia’s most comprehensive youth, technology and mental health collaboration, the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre, has today launched an unprecedented online campaign targeting Australian teenagers, drawing attention to the consequences of thoughtless and hurtful use of social media and empowering them to act with respect online.
