Jo Saies

Director
PB Performance Coaching

Jo Saies is director of PB Performance Coaching, delivering individual, team, leadership and career development strategies that improve staff performance and productivity. Outcomes are achieved via a unique combination of services including coaching, training, group facilitation and HR consultancy, drawing on theory and evidence based interventions from the disciplines of Performance, Organisational and Positive Psychology.

Academic and Professional Rigour

Combining a First Class Honours degree in Psychology, Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and Executive Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching, Jo understands human behavior and the drivers which influence motivation and performance. Living the ethos of her business, Jo is constantly striving for personal and professional growth. She is an active member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), International Coach Federation (ICF) and Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), stringently upholding each association’s professional code of ethics and commitment to professional development.

A Lifetime of Making a Difference

Jo has been leading, mentoring, training, coaching and inspiring people to achieve their full potential for over 25 years. A successful Manager, she has held leadership positions across diverse fields including Human Resources, Sport Management and Disability Services, both in Australia and overseas. As Area Manager SA/NT for the Australian Public Service Commission, Jo was responsible for leadership, human resource development and ethical conduct across the Commonwealth sector. She has over 20 years experience as a public speaker, trainer and group facilitator working with local, national and international organisations and audiences within the disability, sport, HR and personal development contexts. She is an engaging and effective trainer and facilitator.

Everest and Beyond

Jo’s drive, determination and success extend well beyond her professional career. Overcoming the challenges of visual impairment, Jo has accomplished personal feats of courage and resilience, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and trekking to Everest Base Camp. As a member of the Australian Disabled Ski Team, Jo not only represented Australia as our first female visually impaired ski-racer, but developed many of the personal and professional traits that have shaped her success in life. Jo believes in giving back to her community through voluntary involvement in mentoring, youth leadership, charities and local committees.  She recently helped build a house for a family living in poverty in rural Nepal through Habitat For Humanity, and she is a volunteer with Camp Quality in Adelaide.

Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre

Australia’s most comprehensive youth, technology and mental health collaboration, the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre, has today launched an unprecedented online campaign targeting Australian teenagers, drawing attention to the consequences of thoughtless and hurtful use of social media and empowering them to act with respect online. Unique to the campaign is the application of an innovative digital tracking methodology which – in conjunction with a cohort study that will survey and interview young people – will measure its impact on behaviour change over time.
