Kathy Casey

Senior Consultant

Kathy is Melbourne based and has a strong background in politics and stakeholder engagement programs. She will be providing advice and assistance to YAW-CRC on the development of their Government Relations Strategy.  

 

For much of the past 15 years, Kathy has worked in various ministerial advisory roles to the Coalition, covering the Mental Health and Aged Care portfolios at the Federal level as Chief of Staff to the Hon Christopher Pyne, MP. This was at the time that mental health was, for the first time, placed onto the COAG agenda and as a result more than $2billion was allocated to new mental health initiatives.  

 

Kathy also played an integral and influential role in the establishment of headspace: the National Youth Mental Health Foundation and was involved in the set up of beyondblue: the National Depression Initiative.  

 

Kathy has also had extensive experience in the set up of, and advising political campaigns, at the Federal level.
